Design Character

The DC-5051 combines a broad high-back profile with a continuous upholstered shell that flows from the rear structure into the side panels and armrests. Viewed from the front, the chair appears enclosed and composed without becoming visually overfilled; in profile, the gently curved back and descending arm line soften its overall scale.

A distinct cushioned backrest introduces depth within the shell. One vertical seam and a restrained horizontal division form four broad panels, giving the surface definition without decorative quilting or dense stitchwork. The 90 mm seat cushion remains visually distinct within the surrounding structure, creating a layered relationship between the backrest, seat and upholstered shell.

Decorative bouclé gives the broad upholstered panels a naturally varied mélange appearance. Below, the open four-star steel base reduces visual weight and provides a clear contrast to the generous upper form, while allowing full 360° rotation.
